Anne E. Brodsky, Ph.D., is the Professor and Chair of Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Specializing in resilience, psychological sense of community (PSOC), and social justice, her work addresses societal risks like violence, poverty, racism, and sexism. Dr. Brodsky has authored over 50 professional articles and the book “With All Our Strength: The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan.” She is the Associate Editor and Co-Founding Editor of Community Psychology in Global Perspective. Her roles at UMBC include Director of Gender and Women’s Studies, Associate Dean for Research and College Affairs, and the creator of the UMBC Center for Social Science Scholarship. Dr. Brodsky earned her A.B. from Vassar College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park, with further training at Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University.
